We have a secret to tell you.
Those who tell you that
you must celebrate a holiday in a particular way due to their beliefs
are trying to get a reaction out of you.
You do not need to respond.
Like children, some people need attention. When a child
misbehaves but does not endanger himself or others, sometimes it is best to
just ignore them.
Another tactic is to set a good example. Spread cheer and
joy and good wishes to others. Wish them well even if they tell you that you
are "wrong."
Simply, smile as you would to a mischievous child and move
along to things that bring you joy.
If you would like to educate, do so with love. To angrily
shout back accomplishes nothing and will only serve to divide at a time when
people should be coming together to celebrate.
No one can destroy your holiday experience without your
permission.
Refuse to give it to them and move on to more important
things.
We wish you the happiest of holidays, and know that every
day can be a happy, holy day if you allow it. ~Silas
