It’s Ok to Give Up (For A Little While)

Sometimes, the harder you try to make your life work, the more difficult situations and events show up, and seem to conspire against you.

Obligations and bills are mounting, your energy is low and it seems in order to have the life of your dreams you will have to jump through an endless series of hoops and dance around countless obstacles.

You have been told to keep your vibration high. If you don’t remain in that “happy” place, then all is lost.
More pressure. We are always amazed at how hard you are on yourselves.

When you are exhausted from work, stress and struggling through your tears to stay in your happy place, it is tempting to just give up. It’s ok to give up. You deserve a break.

We do not mean to say that you should not attempt to fulfill your life’s purpose or have the love or career of your dreams, just take a break.

Let go of any attachment you have to a particular outcome and let Spirit work out the details. If it means following an unexpected path or moving at a slower pace, then relax, trust and allow this.

Spirit sees things from a higher perspective. While you are trudging through the desert, Spirit is directing you toward a beautiful and lush oasis that contains all that you have been wishing for.

You cannot see the oasis from where you are standing. You might think you see water in another direction and chase a mirage. That will make you tired quickly.

All is never lost. There is always a beautiful place waiting for you, much closer than you think. It is you who run from the life of your dreams, because you believe it should happen a certain way.

You may have tried choice A and B and had no luck, but Spirit can see the rest of the alphabet and knows exactly the plan to give you a life of love, happiness and prosperity without compromise.

Take small steps towards your goal. Then, when spirit redirects you, you don’t have as far to travel to get back on course.

You have a wonderful life waiting for you. We are giddy with excitement as we watch you draw closer.

Just for today, relax and give up. Then, wake up tomorrow, take a baby step or two and ask Spirit to lead you in the right direction.

Small frequent, course corrections are much easier than 180 degree turns, and you can always stop and ask for directions. ~Silas

Bless the Unexpected

Imagine you are watching movie. The main character sets a goal. He or she then moves effortlessly towards this goal then achieves it. Then the movie ends. No obstacles, no challenges. Would you enjoy such a movie? Would you line up to see the sequel?

Can you imagine a video game where the character walks from point A to the treasure box at point B. No one shoots at him, no monsters chase him. How many quarters will you invest in such a game?

When you seek to achieve a goal, you will aim to arrive there as quickly and efficiently as possible. You try to plan your efforts so that there are minimal distractions and obstacles for that is the shortest journey, yes? Perhaps not.

Back to the video game. You are two minutes into the game and monsters have chased you into a small, dark room. You curse yourself for not being fast enough, or more careful. You try to figure out how to get back in the game or whether or not you should just give up.

As your character paces the room, you hear a change in the sound of his footfalls; a hollow spot. You have discovered a trap door in the floor.

You go inside and it leads you safely past the monsters and into another room that you did not know existed. You see another door.

When you open it, like magic! There is the treasure you've been seeking. There was a much easier way to get to it than the conventional, straightforward route. If you had not faced the obstacle of the monsters and the delay of being cornered in the room, you would not have found it.

When you are trying to achieve a goal and find obstacles in your way, take a closer look.

They may not be there to impede your progress, but rather to show you a short cut, teach you an important lesson or develop a skill that you did not have before.

Delays and obstacles can be exhausting, but do not let them steal your joy. Learn what they have to teach you, see what they have to show you.

Then, pick up your treasure map and proceed with the next logical step from where you are. Your goal may be closer than you think. Like the little girl from Kansas, you may find that it has been traveling with you the entire journey. ~Silas

The Flow

Life is a river of energy. When things are going well, you float effortlessly from one experience to another. Occasionally, you will find rocks or fallen trees in your path, but if you don't allow fear to get the better of you, you can easily navigate around them.

Often the flow is slow and gentle. You can get to where you want to go with subtle movements of the arms and legs. The journey can be one of ease and beauty if you allow it to be. You drift gently to your destination enjoying the coolness of the water and the beauty of the scenery that you pass.

Often we forget this potential for life to be easy and effortless. We panic and hold onto the rocks as we float into rougher waters. We get stuck and stall in the face of a fallen log or rocks that block our path. We mistakenly believe that the ride is over. Muscles tighten, fear rises, we believe that if we let go, all will be lost. Our most frightening thoughts will come to pass.

They will not come to pass, unless you stubbornly create them. When we are facing our deepest, darkest fears, and all seems lost, this is the time, that we give up and let go. We may flounder a bit, briefly dip below the water, but eventually, the water slows, and again, you find yourself in the gentle, easy flow.

Facing your fears pushes them into the light, and you can see that they are not as big as you thought. You relax and find a foothold, a small channel through which you can pass. Days, weeks and years of holding tightly against them, will tire you out. You will struggle more and have less energy to swim through them and past them.

When you feel afraid, tense, sad, confused or overwhelmed, know that fear is the cause, and that it is much smaller than you think. Stop. Close your eyes. Ask what this fear is, and what you need to face and conquer it. Then, when you have your answer. Let go. Enjoy the change, the thrill of the unknown. It is an adventure that leads to victory. And things will settle and you will find peace again. Every time.
