Loving All of Your Selves

Life becomes sheer joy when you learn to love who you are.

You wake up in the morning, unburdened by insecurities and fear, and jump into life with both feet.

You cannot do this, however, if you do not learn to love who you were.

You must learn to accept that  frightened, unsuccessful, long-suffering individual you used to be.

It was that person, who took a big gamble, faced her fears head on, gathered every bit of power he had (which was not much at the time) and transformed failure and pain into survival and success.

Whom would you respect more, a billionaire who spends $1000 dollars on an idea, or a working class man or woman who scrapes together every cent they have, perhaps skipping meals and walking around in old clothes to come up with the money to finance their dream.

If both are successful, would you not think more of the hard worker than the one who merely writes the check?

They may, actually, be the same person.

The billionaire might not exist had the poor person not taken a chance when they had very little to work with.

The worker is the parent, the hero, the one who took a chance and made the tough choices.

It would be illogical for the pauper to hate his future billionaire self. Yet, you often send your disgust and anger back to your former self, the one who has so little to begin with.

Instead of rejecting who you were, send love to that brave soul. Fall in love with the one who refused to give up.

Thank your future self for the success that has brought you security and peace of mind, but do not fail to send gratitude to your past self who worked tirelessly, (and from your future self's perspective, still does) to change your life for the better.

Do this daily, and you will see your life getting better on all levels. We promise you. ~Silas

Lost on the Rocky Road

Are you feeling angry? Despondent? Reached a very low point from which you cannot seem to rise above?

Good for you! Yes, we say, good for you!

You have realized that you are lost. Now you can stop heading in the wrong direction and try something different.

Whenever you feel this way, know that you must make a change to correct it. Is it not wonderful that the Universe gives you this chance? This wake up call?

When you feel lost it is because those of us on this side of the veil are screaming, "WRONG WAY! TURN AROUND!"

When you hear us, we rejoice. To you this might sound like derisive laughter, but we cannot help ourselves. We are so glad to have been heard.

So, what next? You are depressed, furious and your head aches from banging it against the wall.

Ask yourself, what have I learned? What is the theme here?

You will see common issues coming up. People that bother you in a particular way. Old fears resurfacing through new experience.

Look for the common thread, and yank it out. Hold it up to the light and examine it. Once you have identified it, you can discard it and not have to deal with it again.

Thank the Universe for giving you this opportunity to change before a huge disaster strikes. Then make the change. It may be an attitude or a behavior, but you will find it if you look and all will make sense.

What is certain, if you are to continue down the path you will just become more lost, more frustrated and it will take longer to find your way.

How lucky you are that the Universe loves you so. ~Silas

The Flow

Life is a river of energy. When things are going well, you float effortlessly from one experience to another. Occasionally, you will find rocks or fallen trees in your path, but if you don't allow fear to get the better of you, you can easily navigate around them.

Often the flow is slow and gentle. You can get to where you want to go with subtle movements of the arms and legs. The journey can be one of ease and beauty if you allow it to be. You drift gently to your destination enjoying the coolness of the water and the beauty of the scenery that you pass.

Often we forget this potential for life to be easy and effortless. We panic and hold onto the rocks as we float into rougher waters. We get stuck and stall in the face of a fallen log or rocks that block our path. We mistakenly believe that the ride is over. Muscles tighten, fear rises, we believe that if we let go, all will be lost. Our most frightening thoughts will come to pass.

They will not come to pass, unless you stubbornly create them. When we are facing our deepest, darkest fears, and all seems lost, this is the time, that we give up and let go. We may flounder a bit, briefly dip below the water, but eventually, the water slows, and again, you find yourself in the gentle, easy flow.

Facing your fears pushes them into the light, and you can see that they are not as big as you thought. You relax and find a foothold, a small channel through which you can pass. Days, weeks and years of holding tightly against them, will tire you out. You will struggle more and have less energy to swim through them and past them.

When you feel afraid, tense, sad, confused or overwhelmed, know that fear is the cause, and that it is much smaller than you think. Stop. Close your eyes. Ask what this fear is, and what you need to face and conquer it. Then, when you have your answer. Let go. Enjoy the change, the thrill of the unknown. It is an adventure that leads to victory. And things will settle and you will find peace again. Every time.
