Happily Ever Now

Your Hollywood movies have sold you on the idea of  "Happily Ever After."

When the movie is over, the problem is resolved, the happy couple ride off into the sunset, the underdog celebrates her success or the world is saved and eternal happiness is the result.

Your job on Earth is to be happy and to learn. Your goals are simply scenarios that provide the  backdrop for this happiness.

It would seem easy to be happy living in prosperity in a mansion, with the love of your life, located on a beautiful tropical island, but if stress, depression and fear are your habits, you can be miserable anywhere.

You can be happy or distraught in any situation, but this does not mean that the Universe wants you to be destitute and homeless.

Cultivate a habit of happiness. Even if you are not where you want to be. Don't blame yourself if you still get stressed, but shake it off quickly, leaving only the lesson behind.

If you desire to be someplace else, then feel the joy in that place. Walk as you would if  you had the great job. Get dressed in the morning as though you are the successful actress or published author you aspire to be.

You may find yourself exactly where you want to be, someplace better or simply in a more favorable situation than you are currently in.

Congratulate yourself on the improvement, and enjoy your Happily Ever Now! ~Silas

Please Yourself First

When you live your life seeking only the approval of others, you will not likely find it.

Some are inclined to criticize whether or not there is a reason. For some it gives them a sense of superiority and artificially raises their self-esteem.

There are those who are determined, no matter what the circumstances, to be unhappy and displeased with the situations and people around them.

Do not envy them, even if they are in a position of power or appear to be successful.

When you live your life for others, you will lose yourself. This is a terrible experience and one you do not want, even if you could make everyone around you happy.

You can only do your work, both physical and spiritual to the best of your ability and when you have done that, be proud, and move on to the next step.

There are simply too many people in the world to keep happy all the time. This is not  your assignment on Earth.

Do your best and make yourself happy. Others will flock to you and want to know the secret of your competence, and creativity.

When you release the need to be a "people pleaser" you will find a freedom and joy that can never compare to a smile on someone else's face.

Look in the mirror and admire your own smile. It is truly a thing of beauty. ~Silas
