Yes! I Can Even!

Fairy A-musings:

Just another pre-Halloween weekend, walking through a hotel lobby wearing leather elven  armor next to Lady Death and a fallen Angel.

My new “normal” life allows me so much fun and creative freedom that I can’t imagine living any other way.

Yet, years ago, I would never have imagined this life.

Back in those days, I used the word, “can’t” a lot. Can’t is the tombstone of the subject of the sentence. When you’ve said it enough your life becomes a graveyard of missed opportunities and lost dreams.

I’ve decided that while I’m alive, I am focusing on life. If I am unable to bury my “can’ts” I can, at least cage them and only feed them when they are being helpful such as “I can’t cross the street now,” (in front of the semi truck).

Instead, I will add some colorful new phrases to my vocabulary: “I haven’t tried that yet, I wonder what would happen if I did?” and “That’s just because no one ever has.”

C-word be gone! You have no power here!

Now go before I drop a house on you!

On second thought, why waste a good house on something that doesn’t exist.

Allowing the Creative Flow

We on this side of the veil, often find you humans to be quite amusing. We adore you yet we are confused as to why you make your lives so difficult.

You have an idea or project in mind and you force yourself to stare at a screen for hours, hold a pen to a blank piece of paper, grasp your tools tightly in your hand with no work in front of you.

Ideas and inspirations are always around you. You do not have to fight to pull them in. You must relax to allow them to come to you.

If you saw a cat you didn't know and wanted to pet it, you would probably not think to trap it in a cage or chase after it.

You would sit quietly, calling softly to it, perhaps offering a bit of food.

Before you know it, the animal is "petting" you with its head and following you wherever you go.

When you feel stuck, relax. Call for the idea or inspiration that you desire. It will be brought to you.

You will combine it with others and put your own unique energetic signature on it and make it your own.

Ideas do not come "from" you when you slave and focus on the problem, but rather "through" you when you open yourself up to the Divine source of all creation and creativity.

You can access this source by physical activity (walking, dancing), meditation, or simply playing with your ideas until inspiration sneaks in.

If you are struggling with your projects, it is ego trying to take over. If you find your creations to flow from you with joy and little effort, you are tapped in to Divine creativity.

Turn on the faucet and let it flow. ~Silas

From Adversity to Amazing

Would it surprise you to know, that many of your favorite artists, musicians and storytellers had difficult childhoods or perhaps faced challenges as adults?

They may still be going through them. You can see it in your periodicals. It is surprising and shocking. Your hero has fallen from grace.

Creativity can be a fragile thing. Some can tap into it at will. They decide to create and just start creating.

For others, there are fears and doubts. They don’t think they can follow their passions so they bury themselves in drug abuse, bad relationships and money troubles.

From those difficulties, they find the strong, passionate emotions they need to create.

They often stay in that bad place because they believe that the muse will elude them if they start to feel good.

This is not necessary. Creation is just as simple as believing in it.

Think, dream, take appropriate action (occasionally stopping to reevaluate) and make it happen.

Many people do their best work under adversity. A project is due in a few hours so there is no time to argue with themselves about it. They just jump in and do it. Often it is their very best work, because the worry and fear have kick started their creative juices.

“So,” you think, “I must be under great pressure and stress to create something wonderful? Why bother?”
Why? Because you must. Your soul is here to do work. If your ego does not cooperate, then you will be put into a situation where you have no choice.

So don’t fight your dreams! Stop resisting the idea of vitality, love and prosperity!

If you must have a little adversity to create then give yourself some. Make it a controlled, environment.

Set a time limit. Be serious about it. Use a timer or mark it on your calendar and honor it. Face your fears.

Jump in and act without over-thinking the situation (without putting your life in danger).

Risk looking foolish. Stop worrying about what others are thinking. Start creating, right now!

Before you talk yourself out of it. ~Silas

The "V" Word

Daily you are bombarded with the message that you are not safe. You must be on the defensive at all times. The world is not a kind and gentle place. You learn to run away before trying anything new. You go on the attack before analyzing the actual data to know what the danger is. Be safe, be prepared. The safest thing you could do is to leave your physical body and leave this Earth. Safety is safety. It will bring you a safe life, but not a satisfying one.

It is okay to be vulnerable at times. It does not make you weak.

If you constantly kept up your guard, you would never be able to interact with another person. Which would mean, you would miss out on the ultimate experience of love and sexual relationships. Making love is about being vulnerable. In a good experience, you stand naked and vulnerable in front of someone you can hopefully trust, and let yourself go completely, put aside your dignity and feel and react to what is happening. People who cannot completely let go and be vulnerable at this time miss out on an amazingly satisfying experience, of body, mind and heart.

Creativity comes from vulnerablity. You do not want to believe this. You want to feel that you are in control of the experience. Would it surprise you to know that you create nothing? The ego cannot create. It does, however, have a gift for interrupting creation. Creativity comes when you open your heart, and allow Spirit to work through your eyes, your hands, your voice, your body..........The gift that the truly creative people possess is the gift of being open to channel creative energy. The clearer the channel the more amazing the creation, but first the person must drop their defenses, and allow themselves to be vulnerable. This is the state in which you create. It is okay to protect your workspace and limit your interactions with others at this time. Do not allow your moments of creative vulnerability to leave you defenseless to those who prey on weakness. You may not control the experience, but you can control the conditions surrounding it. This is your right.

Many people who work in the field of spirituality, psychics, channelers, mediums and teachers, must allow themselves to be vulnerable in order to bring in clear guidance and information. Many psychics fail to protect themselves during these times. They walk around vulnerable and open to those who would prey upon them. Even the simple act of meditation can leave you vulnerable, but if you remember that you are in control of the experience, you can protect yourself, while still allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to open to the message Spirit has for you and others. Many experienced psychics have people around them to watch them during this vulnerable time. This frees up the psychic to receive the highest level of guidance as they do not need to fear for their safety. Also experienced psychics know how to "turn off" the guidance they receive when they are tired or not in a place of safety.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to allow yourself moments of vulnerability. By letting down your defenses when you are in a safe place, you allow your gifts to come through clearly. You experience life more fully. You create with ease and love with your whole heart. The "V" word is not a dirty word, it is not a bad experience, if you use it correctly.

Jinnzania's side notes: I've loved to create for as long as I can remember. As child I would dance for hours, when I got older, I also found I could write poetry and stories. I never knew when one of these creative episodes would "hit" me, and there were often dry spells in between. It was an elusive spark that would quickly go out if it didn't "catch" it. I have learned that I am more in control of the experience than I originally thought I was. I have only to ask for something to come through and it will. As long as I don't try to control the experience and take over, what comes through is good.

I once heard a man describe poetry as a nasty little creature that had to be struggled with and defeated before a poem could be written. I could never write that way. If the struggle becomes too much then I know that ego has taken over and it's time to quit for the day, or write a different poem. Channeling creative energy feels easy and smooth for me. I always wonder, "why didn't I think of this sooner". But I know some people like to fight with the muse. Forgive me if I"d rather pour him a drink and have my way with him. I'm just like that :)
