Breaking Through

Have you been working to manifest a change in your life situation, only to be barraged with setbacks and problems?

Perhaps Spirit is not being cruel but showing you mercy.

Is your energy vibrating in harmony with what you want? If it isn't then you will likely encounter the same problems that you are having now.

Spirit may want you to resolve them before moving on. You might even find things harder when you decide to make the shift. Spirit is simply, speeding up the process at your request.

Look deeper when you wish to break from your pouting.
What issues have you not yet dealt with?

Like a butterfly trapped in a cocoon that is too small, or a snake that is preparing to shed its skin, you may find change to be uncomfortable until you break through your limitations and find a place where you can be free to be the transformed being you desire.

Don't give up hope. Know that struggles are a sign that things are working out. Look at them as things to be resolved rather than sabotage.

Is your ego screaming, "No! No! It's not true!" as you read that last sentence? Then you are on the right track. Keep going. ~Silas

The Gift of Crisis

Often, you will find that in a crisis, you can do amazing things.

When you have no choice, you easily prioritize what must be done, what should be done and what would be nice to do.

You jump in and get it done, not stopping to over-think everything or hesitate. There is no worry about failure or making a fool of yourself. Things suddenly seem very black and white.

Your poor ego cannot get a word in edgewise to tell you you'll never succeed, because you are so focused on the tasks at hand.

So....what is the result? You accomplish a great deal and do it to the best of your ability. You do not stop until you have finished it all or run out of time.

If you applied  "crisis" thinking (minus the stress) to meeting your goals, you would be successful at anything you attempt.

This is why Spirit sends you crisis situations from time to time. It helps you to hone skills that you otherwise would not have a chance to exercise. To prepare you for great things to come.

You do not have to wait until things "get real" to practice acting in a crisis.

Give yourself the gift of a crisis. Pretend company's coming or you have a deadline to meet. Do not stress, just work as though you have no choice. Then focus on your goals and do your best.

In between your crisis practice sessions, make sure to get some rest. You cannot meet your goals and deadlines if your eyelids are drooping and you are barely able to get off the couch.

You will soon find fewer crises entering your life as you will no longer need the practice. ~Silas

You've Got the Manifesting Blues

If you are struggling with your manifestations, it would probably trouble you to hear, that the Divine provides you with everything that you ask for.

Before you begin to swear, let us explain.

The Divine is always standing ready to grant your requests. All of them, without fail. It is you who actually deny them.

Sometimes your focus may not be strong enough. You don't want the "thing" that badly.

Sometimes, your ego convinces you that you want things that you cannot handle or would bring you more grief.

Your soul knows what you need in this life.  Surprisingly, your soul's needs are few, but as this life is meant to be fun, you are granted certain luxuries.

If something is truly not good for you, you will have trouble focusing on it. You will feel doubt and fear. You will hesitate. If you continue, you will get it, but it might not be what you want.

No, we are not playing psychological games with you. You play them with yourself. We often wonder why, but find it amusing to watch, unless you hurt yourself.

There is no difference between that which you must do in this life and that which you desire. You will always be granted the time, talents and resources to accomplish your life's purpose.

If you want to know what you truly desire, then follow your passion. Play chase with it. Dance with it. Get to know and love it. Then bring it to life. You already have all that you need to accomplish this.

Do not work so hard on your manifestation attempts, work instead on your passion. That will lead you where you need to go.

And that is where you will find all that you are seeking now. ~Silas

Turn, Turn, Turn

It is a common mistake to believe that the expression, “Turn the other cheek”, represents an act of weakness or acceptance.

It is in fact, an act of strength.

It takes a strong person to look beyond the ego and recognize the frightened soul inside that the ego is protecting.

An act of revenge serves no one.  It tells the other that their ego was correct in its judgment and that their beliefs about you were true.

A stronger act is not to act. Inaction, that comes from a place of love, is more powerful than action that comes from fear.

Those who would judge based on the fearful act that they can see or the fear-filled words they hear, will be revealed for who they really are.

Those with the best and most loving eyes can see through the fear and vengeance and recognize the loving act of inaction.

If those around you are moved to act from fear and vengeance, be moved from your heart and be still in a place of love.

In the end, the peace and love you create will return to you multiplied. ~Silas

Deconstructing Criticism

You clench your teeth with fear. You are awaiting critique. It may be a test score, a piece of writing or artwork, an audition or a special project you have just completed at work.

The critic walks into the room. Your power goes out. Suddenly, your self-esteem is entirely in their hands. The critique has not yet begun and you are already missing a golden opportunity.

If you want to eliminate flaws and produce work that will be appreciated by others, it is good to have another person check your work. Your work is an expression of who you are, but it is not you. Appreciate the gift of feedback.

A second set of eyes can pick up mistakes that your tired eyes may miss. They may l spot holes and spaces for improvement. They may spot something brilliant that you have downplayed. They may see an interesting pattern that you might want to explore further.

Criticism can be a blessing, if you can remember that it is not about you. It is natural to feel defensive when someone is looking for errors in your work, but as the goal is improvement, you need to deal with those feelings and listen to the message. Sometimes having your feelings hurt can inspire you to improve your work and do a better job in the future, but allowing your feelings to be hurt is a choice that you make.

It is true that some critics let their power go to their heads and can be deliberately mean and harsh. Even their opinions can be helpful, if you let go of your pride and remember that improvement of your work is the ultimate goal. If there is any honesty in their critique, it can be helpful. Use your own judgement as well. Critics aren't perfect either.

Some of the greatest artists and writers and actors have been criticized harshly. Some have been told they had no talent. What made them great was pushing past the criticism, making changes as necessary, and continuing the work. Continued practice often brings the best results.

When you face criticism, look for the good things as well as the bad. Adjust your work as needed, but make sure it remains an accurate reflection of you.

Critics are not always correct in their assessments, but don't be too hard on them. With constructive criticism, persistence and practice, they will get it right. ~Silas

Raising Your Inner Child

The purpose of life on Earth is to enjoy and create. The problems and issues you create in your lives are simply obstacles that stand in the way of your pleasure and creations. It is not always enjoyable to move them, but it must be done. Unless you want to give up on this lifetime and try again the next. You have an opportunity to do this now, so why do you not?

Your ego is why.

You have been taught to envision your ego as a type of villain or angry schoolmaster who taunts you as often as they can. Your ego is actually, more like a child. As many of you are aware, raising children can be a challenge.

When you know you need to do something and that you will be better off for having done it, your ego is the one that wants to watch more television ("One more story, please?") Your ego detests a user-friendly workspace ("But I don't want to lean my room!"). Your ego would rather shut you down and sabotage your progress, than find another way to do something, ("I can't. I'm not capable).

Most people either give up, or fight the ego until it has a tantrum. Treat your ego as the child it is. Chores must be done, but always allow time for play, naps and an afternoon snack of milk and cookies if you like. If you fight the ego, it will strike back. If you give in it will not respect you and will continue to take advantage of your kind nature. Satisfy your soul by accomplishing something daily. Satisfy your ego with a little treat, or pleasurable experience afterward.

Strive not for perfection, but for balance. A balanced life is as close to perfection as you can get, and it is more than enough. ~Silas

Jinnzania's side notes: Today, I overwhelmed myself with unpacking and attempting to organize my space. At one point I felt a meltdown coming on, and I kept trying to push it aside and keep fighting through. When I couldn't take it any longer, I looked over at the clock. I checked the time and decided that I would give myself exactly ten minutes to have a meltdown. I managed to finish in five and had five minutes to rest before getting back to work.

It seems pretty silly and I had a good laugh over it, but it worked, and if something works, you keep doing it. I've found that rest and recreation are as important as work, and what's the point of work if you never get to play? I'm still trying to break old patterns and it is work, but each time I do I reclaim a little piece of myself.

Then I reward myself for the effort. If you work out regularly, you can afford to have cookies and milk. Weekend warriors usually burn out quickly, and they never get to eat anything yummy.
