Often, you will find that in a crisis, you can do amazing
things.
When you have no choice, you easily prioritize what must be
done, what should be done and what would be nice to do.
You jump in and get it done, not stopping to over-think
everything or hesitate. There is no worry about failure or making a fool of
yourself. Things suddenly seem very black and white.
Your poor ego cannot get a word in edgewise to tell you
you'll never succeed, because you are so focused on the tasks at hand.
So....what is the result? You accomplish a great deal and do
it to the best of your ability. You do not stop until you have finished it all
or run out of time.
If you applied
"crisis" thinking (minus the stress) to meeting your goals, you
would be successful at anything you attempt.
This is why Spirit sends you crisis situations from time to
time. It helps you to hone skills that you otherwise would not have a chance to
exercise. To prepare you for great things to come.
You do not have to wait until things "get real" to
practice acting in a crisis.
Give yourself the gift of a crisis. Pretend company's coming
or you have a deadline to meet. Do not stress, just work as though you have no
choice. Then focus on your goals and do your best.
In between your crisis
practice sessions, make sure to get some rest. You cannot meet your goals and
deadlines if your eyelids are drooping and you are barely able to get off the
couch.
You will soon find fewer
crises entering your life as you will no longer need the practice. ~Silas
